Fixed Wing Add-on question

03-01-2016 08:35:07

So, was going to do my solo flight in a fixed wing airplane today, and my flight instructor asked me for my student pilot's certificate so he could endorse it for my solo. I don't HAVE a student certificate, since I got my rotorcraft-helicopter rating back in 2007. Do I really need to have one? Didn't fly because I didn't have one. Any insight from anyone about this?

Change instructors. You are a certificated pilot, no need for a solo endorsement.

He just needs to make the endorsement in your logbook

Thanks for the replies. I had a more experienced CFI show him the proper endorsement that was needed.

Wow, talk about not knowing the rules. Your CFI should be fired. Don't go back up with him. (And you pay him??)
