New R44 configuration

Hello everone

I ordered a new R44 Raven I from factory few weeks ago. delivery is not due until late April and I can configure the helicopter I still have few months. I ordered a basic Raven I which will meet my needs . I am looking over the factory options to make changes. 3  things I am seriously considering are 1. AI gyro 2. Bose interface 3. USB outlets.

  1. RH installs RC Allen electronic AI at price $4300. I was told that even if I do not choose that option it will be wired as they use same harness for every new build. How much wiring will be there , I dont know. I am thinking about installing it local avionics shop in year or two. If anyone has gone this route please let me know how it worked.
  2. 2.Bose interface . Not too expensive an option.  I am planning only single interface on pilots side. Anyone has experience and noticed difference ? is it worth it ?
  3. 3. USB outlets I guess it will depend upon individual need. I really not gonna fly any paying people but it everyone recoomends it I will go for it  . Thanks in advance

  1. The artificial horizon will get you out of a jam if you ever stumble into IMC, worth having.
  2. I use the Bose headset with battery, however getting a lemo connection for the pilot side only would avoid dead battery. They sound the same.
  3. You don't need USB ports.
  4. The wind deflectors are great if you plan on flying with the doors off.
  5. Good luck, a lot of fun
